The Footer Block: Own HTML option

This article shows you how to edit a Footer content block in SpiceSend if you custom code your template. If you are using a drag-and-drop template, read The Footer Block: Drag-and-Drop Templates.

The default Footer content block uses system merge tags. This includes a physical address and unsubscribe link, which are required by law, as well as a few other important links. Ideally you are not supposed to make any changes to the Footer block.

But, you can edit the text however you want, as long as you retain the required information.

Note: For doing this, one needs to have a good knowledge of HTML. Otherwise things will mess-up.

To Edit the Footer content block:

  1. Click on the Settings tab and then go to Footer HTML.
    Footer HTML
  2. Copy that HTML code , the click on Content tab and paste the code towards the very bottom of your HTML
    Copy that HTML code
  3. Make edits as per your requirement.
    Be careful, and do not make any edits to the 'Merge Tags'.

Example: To change the Physical Address only in current campaign: Delete {{Account Address}} from footer content and then add your new address there.
Account Address

You can use following merge tags as per your requirement.
merge tags

Note: The {{URLUnsubscribe}} merge tag should never be removed. If you remove this tag, then SpiceSend will add the whole footer again, under your edited footer.
To avoid double footer, do not remove {{URLUnsubscribe}}

For paid accounts you can also remove Spicesend's logo from footer of the newsletters.
